Nominate Your Favorite Teacher
The Herald's annual Favorite Teacher contest is going on right now. The deadline for nominations is midnight April 22nd.
Each year, The Herald and heraldonline.com invite students to submit essays nominating their favorite teachers for the honor. A panel of Herald employees examines the nominations; up to 18 winners will be chosen.
We're hoping to make the nomination process a little easier this year, so entries must be submitted through the online form, which is also available at www.heraldonline.com.
Any student can nominate his or her favorite teacher for the 2015-16 school year. Nominations must be current; a student cannot nominate a teacher he or she had in a previous school year. Nomination essays must be in the student’s own words.

Pasta for Pennies
STMS Student Council will be sponsoring our 13th Annual Pennies
for Patients Program.
The Pasta for Pennies Program is a service learning,
character education and philanthropy program that gives students a unique
experience making a difference through teamwork.
How it Works:
Students will collect monetary donations over a three-week
period, February 24-March 11. The monies can come from friends
or relatives or underneath the couch cushions.
We will have weekly count-ins! Each week, we will recognize the
team with the most donations from each grade level. At the end of the three
week program, the team that has raised the most money overall will receive an
Olive Garden Pasta Party!
Online Donations:
Donating online is easy and fun! Here is our school's
online fundraising page URL: http://events.lls.org/pages/sc/SaludaTrailMiddleSchool
By participating in our school's Pasta for Pennies program,
Saluda Trail students will be making a huge difference in the lives of patients
with blood cancers. Please help save lives!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mrs. White
at jgwhite@rhmail.org.
Thank you for your continued support!
