Share the Warmth

Student Council will be sponsoring a "Share the Warmth" drive for the homeless. Please bring in gently used coats, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets, sleeping bags, and etc to your homebase classroom. We will be collecting donations through December 11th.

The try out clinic will begin Tuesday, November 17th from 3:50 until 5:30 pm. (that’s next week)

Investigative Student

One of our students, Morgan, saw a show called Hack My Life and she was inspired to make a homemade light bulb.  She used recycled materials and brought the product to school to show off.  She even used the design process while at school and decided to try a different size of lead to see if it made a difference.  Way to go Morgan!

Student Council Speeches and Campaigning

Mrs. White would like to thank everyone who came out to the Student Council Interest meeting! We are excited to have another successful year! 

  • All students who have signed up to run for offices will need to make sure that their speeches are submitted via email to jgwhite@rhmail.org by next Wednesday, September 9th. You may also send a link to a video speech to put on the class blogs. 

  • Campaigning will begin on September 14th and officer elections will be held on September 18th. 

  • Homebase representatives will run on September 21st-22nd (during homebase classes). Our first Student Council meeting will be on September 23rd at 8am in Room C104.

Robotics Team Try-Outs

Saluda Trail tryouts for the 2015-2016 competitive robotics teams will be held in Mrs. Graves IT Lab on the Related Arts hallway Tuesday, August 25th immediately after school at 3:45.  The team is open to any and all students grades 6-8 that are available for afterschool practices.  Students need to be picked up by 5 at the bus loop.

Sixth Grade Transition Camp


6th Graders are invited to attend a mini-camp on August 5th from 8:15- 11:45 and from 1:15 to 4:45.  There are two sessions so the student will only need to attend one session.  During the mini-camp students will be given the opportunity to work on opening a locker, traveling their schedule, and finding important places in the building.  Sign up http://goo.gl/forms/HOSoi3WZi9
